About Your Association and Committee

The New Cut Rigg Owners’ Association began in September 2011 with the following aims:

  1. To provide a forum for owners to meet and discuss matters of mutual interest
  2. To look after the interests of all owners in relation to common areas of the development
  3. To facilitate a channel of communication between the owners and the factor
  4. To provide appropriate assistance to owners
  5. To agree and maintain a Service Level Agreement with factor

You can read a full breakdown of these aims in the Owners Constitution by clicking on the link below.

New Cut Rigg Owners’ Association CONSTITUTION

The Association Committee comprises 12 members; two representatives from each stair who meet once a quarter.

Role of the stair rep

The role of the stair rep is to represent the views of owners in each stair and present issues pertaining to each stair at committee meetings. These meetings are held four times per year, usually following the issuing of the quarterly bills from the factor. Owners frequently liaise with the stair rep about issues or complaints, though it remains the responsibility of each owner to deal with the factor directly. The stair rep would only become involved in an issue if it needs escalation to the factor, or the wider development.

The committee is an excellent way of being involved in the life of New Cut Rigg, and helping steer initiatives and improvements. Action taken by committee members benefits all of us living in New Cut Rigg. Recent actions include: clearing out the overflowing bike stores and disposing of unwanted bikes, the programme of development of the gardens, improvements made to recycling facilities, and the purchasing of light bulbs per stair to reduce replacement costs to owners.

The list of stair reps is on New Cut Rigg page on the the James Gibb website, which is only open to owners of properties in New Cut Rigg.  If you would like to represent your stair, please get in touch by emailing us at newcutrigg@gmail.com
